By considering the complex determinants of local ground water currents,
the protection of ground water in the urban development process could be
improved.
The findings regarding the flow conditions will be integrated into the urban
master plan and into the ground water monitoring concept in form of a practical
tool. These ground water monitoring will become a routine procedure in detailed
lay-out planning.
In the initial phase this instrument was supplemented by soil(protection) aspects
to strenghten the intended function as an instrument of planning. In the
second phase the instrument was improved by applying it to testing sites. The
objective was to support its application in other cities and towns.

The project is terminated.
This instrument of planning now is finished for the binding site management and
will be comprised in the process of comments during the binding site
management.
