Dear Oliver,
Thank you for sharing wonderful news about the reunion in August. We
are delighted that the FST spirit is alive among you in Europe. This year,
we have two German students and one from Switzerland. FST is blessed
with about 30 new students and a very healthy financial picture. Please let
me know as soon as possible when the dates for the 2008 gathering. We will
try our best to join you.

Peace and all good,
Tito

Dear friends at FST,

FST European alumni cherish Franciscan spirit in Benedictine surroundig

This year's FST European Reunion took place August 10 through 12 in a
spectacular setting. FST alumnus Michael Mann hosted the meeting in the
Benedictine Abbey of Einsiedeln in Switzerland where he is managing
director of the parish. Thirteen people enjoyed a wonderful August
weekend in one of the largest monastries in the world. With his huge set
of keys Michael opened sights that normal pilgrims do not get to see
such as the church steeples, the baroque library and the grand hall. The
German speaking alumnae and alumni exchanged memories and experiences.
They also met with one of the monks and took part in their evening
worship. After so much Benedictine spirituality they returned to their
shared Franciscan roots and celebrated a FST-style Sunday liturgy on a
nearby hill which overlooked the monastery. At their next meeting in
2008 they hope to be able to meet again with a guest from FST and hear
firsthand the news from the school as this year no one from Berkeley was
able to attend. One way of keeping in touch with the German alumni is by
visiting their homepage (see "alumni" on www.fst.edu).
