Joined by peace

History was written here – and its effects are still felt today. Münster and Osnabrück were the cities where the Peace of Westphalia was negotiated which ended the Thirty Years War in Europe in 1648 and placed international relations on a new footing.

When you come to visit you can trace this piece of world history and at the same time discover two charming cities, each of which keeps the issue of peace alive in its own particular way. The weekend takes in a stimulating cultural trip to Münster and Osnabrück, which are only 50 kilometres apart. By the way: you can start your trip in Münster or in Osnabrück, just as you please.

Friday:
Arrival in Münster, overnight stay in hotel in Münster
Saturday:
Guided tour of the Old Town at 11 am, visit to the Hall of Peace, drive to Osnabrück, night watchman’s guided tour of Osnabrück Old Town, overnight stay in hotel in Osnabrück
Sunday:
Visit to the Hall of Peace, departure from Osnabrück

You can also start your weekend in Osnabrück, but the sequence of events will be different.
