Shopping becomes a peculiar experience in the historical old town of Münster. Shopping has got style here and can easily be combined with a visit to a museum. And in-between, life can be enjoyed in one of the numerous sidewalk cafés. And what about the dear little ones? They can play all the while in the well-attended Maxi Tower.
Shopping is still real fun in the extensive pedestrian zones and the cosy side streets. A unique shopping world opens up all around the Prinzipalmarkt with its medieval colonnades: with exclusive fashion brands, trendy boutiques, and unmistakable shops.
In close proximity to the old colonnades, the modern Münster Arkaden can be discovered, the novel and architecturally sophisticated shopping arcades in the heart of the city that let you dander relaxedly even when it’s raining.
At the Prinzipalmarkt and Prada, Picasso is not far away in Münster. Correspondingly, a side trip from the Münster Arkaden to the Pablo Picasso Graphic Museum is almost a must. The LWL State Museum for Art and Cultural History, the Municipal Museum, and the Museum for Lacquer Art that’s singular in Europe are all just a few steps away.
The town that’s home to Felix the bunny is also fun for children. There’s the giant Maxi-Sand sandpit during the summer. And in the Maxi Tower, children may play well attended throughout the year while parents are strolling relaxedly.
Subsequent to fashion and art, you are invited by Münster's manifold catering and cultural scene. Sterling Westphalian cuisine is served in the numerous old town restaurants. Quaint pubs and Münster’s oldest brewery can be discovered in the Kuhviertel. On mild summer evenings, a side trip to the Creative Quai can be recommended - Münster’s amusement mile at the municipal port, ranging from Mediterranean cuisine served in stylish ambience through scene clubs to the beach with its palm trees.
