Project description:
|
A new business park is being created on the 88 ha area of a former military
barracks. To this end, the City of Münster, the Sparkasse Münsterland Ost
and the WestLB have set up the GML Gewerbepark Münster Loddenheide Co.Ltd..
The partners have divided the company shares and the management of
the business within a "private-public partnership". In this way,
the partners can invest their own existing specialist knowledge and
capacities in the project, instead of creating expensive new ones. For the
companies taking up residence there, this means a reduction in costs, while,
at the same time, maintaining direct contact regarding advice, procedural
processes and financing.
All the marketing has been applied by the GML to the economic promotion of
the city of Münster. The marketing started in summer of 1998. The intended
period of development has been set at 12 years, in order that the high quality
land areas can be built on in such a way as to preserve resources as much as
possible. At summer of 2006, about 45 % of the total area has been marketed and
the first buildings are currently being constructed or have already been completed.
The 12.5 ha large Friedenspark area forms the centre of the business park.
The generously proportioned green and parkland areas, with their ponds, footpaths,
and benches are intended to provide a place to relax, not only for people from
the companies, but also from the public.
The area can be divided into four parts:
- A trade and logistics centre in the North East and West,
- An area for classic and large area trading companies,
- The "Workplaces of the Future" area in the South East, for
companies with futuristic architecture and sustainable production and
distribution structures,
- A "Working at the Park" area in the centre
